Gotta Go Too Often?
Apr 11, 2017
If you are one of those folks who needs to urinate more frequently than most, there is a reason. Or let me say, many reasons. One of them could be an irritated bladder. Here are some of the stimulants that aggravate the bladder: sweet dried fruit; condiments, such as soy sauce, vinegar, ketchup, mayo, because they contain acids or other ingredients that irritate; processed foods that contain artificial flavors, preservatives, MSG and benzyl alcohol. Keep in mind that these chemicals can also create free radicals, as well as damage cells. (Listen to my Spiritual Naturopathy radio shows about cancer on Unity Online Radio, or read my book “The Seven Causes of Cancer”.)
The “fizz” is another cause of frequent urination. The fizz is carbonated drinks. Talking about drinks, we can’t forget coffee, tea, energy drinks and colas. These can often drive you to what I call “the executive lounge,” AKA the bathroom.
One of my favorite treats after dinner is a very small piece of chocolate. This, too, is a stimulator because it contains caffeine and acid. White chocolate would be a good substitute since it has little or no caffeine.
Citrus fruits and tomatoes also stimulate. Cranberries are both friend and foe. Alcohol is another culprit. Less is best.
There are more things that will send you to the “lounge” to relieve water from your system. You can find more information at the following: American Urological Association Foundation; Cleveland Clinic; Cystitis & Overactive Bladder Foundation.; Interstitial Cystitis Association; Mayo Clinic; Merck Manuals Online Medical Library; National Institutes of Health; University of Georgia; University of Pennsylvania, Abramson Cancer Center, and the University of Center for Science in the Public Interest.
